Service Navigator

Be the welcoming face and guiding hand for our clients

Service Navigators play a key role at the front of our service, ensuring clients feel supported from the moment they arrive and are guided efficiently to the right help.

Key responsibilities

  • Welcome clients and act as the first point of contact during advice sessions.
  • Carry out initial checks to understand client needs and support effective signposting or referral.
  • Review case records to understand progress and next steps.
  • Provide practical, non‑technical help, such as supporting clients with forms or paperwork.
  • Update case records accurately with actions taken.
  • Support helpline services on a rotational basis.
  • Work closely with the Advice Session Coordinator to manage client flow and support smooth session delivery.

Form Filler

Help clients complete important paperwork with confidence

Form Fillers support clients by helping them navigate application forms and written processes, ensuring accuracy and reducing barriers to access.

Key responsibilities

  • Support clients to complete forms clearly and accurately.
  • Explain questions in plain English without giving advice.
  • Check documentation and ensure forms are complete.
  • Record actions and update client case records.
  • Work sensitively with clients facing complex or stressful situations.

Initial Asessor

Help identify client needs and determine next steps

Initial Assessors gather key information from clients to ensure they are directed to the most appropriate advice or support.

Key responsibilities

  • Conduct structured initial assessments with clients.
  • Identify key issues and urgency of client needs.
  • Record accurate and clear case notes.
  • Signpost clients or refer cases internally as appropriate.
  • Work to agreed processes while maintaining confidentiality.

Back Office Admin

Keep our services running smoothly behind the scenes

Back Office Admin volunteers provide essential administrative support, ensuring client records and systems are kept accurate and up to date.

Key responsibilities

  • Update and maintain case management systems.
  • Support with data entry, scanning, and document management.
  • Assist staff and volunteers with general administrative tasks.
  • Help ensure records are complete, accurate, and confidential.
  • Support service delivery by maintaining organised systems.

What you’ll gain

  • An understanding of how advice services operate.
Trustees

Help guide the organisation at a strategic level

Trustees play a crucial governance role, helping to guide Citizens Advice Brent’s strategy, sustainability, and impact.

Key responsibilities

  • Contribute to strategic decision‑making and oversight.
  • Ensure the organisation meets its legal and charitable obligations.
  • Support good governance, financial health, and risk management.
  • Work collaboratively with fellow trustees and senior staff.
  • Act in the best interests of the charity and its clients.
