Assessments & Appointments
To limit the spread of COVID-19 our face to face services are closed, but we’re still here for you.
You can get advice by phone, email or webchat return to the homepage for details .
At an Assessment we offer 10 minute assessment interviews with our highly trained advice workers.
Sometimes the adviser will be able to give you the advice you need right away.
If you can then help yourself, the adviser will support you by introducing you to suitable, user friendly online resources that will inform you of your rights, help you to complain, make offers to creditors and/or calculate your benefit entitlements.
Sometimes the adviser will decide you need an appointment for a John Fisher Free Legal Advice Session or a Skype Employment Advice Clinic, or to see our Benefit Claim Assistants for assistance in completing a form, or to see a Generalist Advice Worker working in the office, or at one of our many Outreach Projects.
Sometimes the adviser will refer you to another local service which has the specialised knowledge you need.
After we’ve seen you at an assessment, we may offer you a follow-up appointment which might be for:
- Benefits check – to see you are getting what you are entitled to
- Helping you negotiate with your creditors, landlord or employer etc.
- Help completing forms
- Legal advice
- Giving you options
- Taking action on your behalf.
